Searching for web pages on a particular topic is as easy as typing a few words into Firefox’s Search Bar.
For example, if you want to find information about the world cup:
1. Click in the Search Bar.
2. Type the phrase world cup. Your typing replaces any text currently in the search bar.
3. Hit EnterReturn to search.
Search results for “world cup” appear in the Firefox window.
Selecting search engine
You can switch the search engine by clicking on its icon and selecting the search engine of your choice. Some search engines, like Google, search the whole web; others, like Amazon.com, only search specific sites.
Manage search engines
Click on the icon of the search engine and select Manage Search Engines... to add, reorder, remove, or restore the default search engines. Select a search engine and click the appropriate button to to move it around within the list or remove it. You can install new search engines by clicking the Get more search engines… link.

While designing the navigation for your site keep the following points in mind:
* Organized Links
Make sure your links are well organized according to the order of importance. Visitors should be easily able to find what they are looking for under different categories.
E.g. All our main links are found on the top i.e. our services, products,portfolio, resources etc.Other interesting links are found on the right of the page. These are common and consistent throughout the site.
Finally if the web page belongs to a guide E.g web design guide you will find the related links below the right menu and also at the bottom of the page.
Note: Related links are very important as visitors coming to a particular page will probably be interested in more information you have under the same topic.
* Clear and Prominent
Once you have decided on your navigation links, you need to think of the best place to put them. Navigation should be clear and consistent. Try to design your navigation on the top or on the left as these are the first places our eyes go to. Also locate the primary links high enough on the page so that they are visible without scrolling. Navigation images should be seamlessly integrated into the site design. Avoid putting navigation links at the bottom of the page as visitors will need to scroll right down to see the links. If you like you could put the important links at the top AND bottom of the page just to make sure your visitors don’t miss the link.
* Consistent
Navigation should be clear and consistent. The important links of your website should be on every page, in the same location, and in the same sequence. Don’t confuse your visitors by putting your navigation links in different places in different pages.
* Easy to understand
Make your links easy to understand and to the point. Usually you won’t have enough place to have long links so make use of the space wisely. Visitors need to know where they will go on clicking on a particular link, so make sure your links are understandable or nobody is going to click on your links, which will defeat the purpose of designing a good navigation system.
* DHTML Menus
If you have a large number of links under categories and sub-categories you could use navigation menus to organize your links. There are many cut ‘n’ paste scripts available on the Net that you could use to create great navigation systems. A favorite resource center is SimplyTheBest.net, you’ll find tons of useful navigation menus that are very easy to install on your site.

Like Mozilla’s latest release, IE 7 also offers multiple searches via a large grouping of search engines, encyclopedias, etc. While both browsers allow you to add more search engines from a predefined list, it is much easier to create your own in IE as opposed to Firefox. Microsoft provides a few easy steps to install your own search engines, while Mozilla requires you to create an OpenSearch plug-in to achieve the same result.

Any software you run can take over your user account, so it is important to be careful when downloading native software.
* Only install software from trustworthy sources.
* Get software from the official site, so you can be sure you’re getting the an untainted copy and to be sure you’re getting the latest version.
* When you are using an Internet connection you can’t trust, such as a random wireless access point, avoid downloading software at all. If you must download software, try to authenticate it in some way, such as by downloading it through https or checking the signing information for a Windows executable file. (Bug 292481 aims to make it easier for software developers to distribute software safely.)
(Hopefully, future operating systems will make it safe to download and install software by separating programs from each other and from your documents.)

If Firefox unexpectedly closes, you don’t have to spend time recovering data or retracing your steps through the Web. If you’re in the middle of typing an email, you’ll pick up where you left off, even down to the last word you typed. Session Restore instantly brings back your windows and tabs, restoring text you entered and any in-progress downloads. Restart the browser without losing your place after you install an add-on or software update.

It’s been a month or so since Google’s Desktop Search Application was released. My initial reaction when the software was launched was nervousness. We live in a time of daily security breaches and while I trust Google for the most part I am reluctant to install software that indexes too much as far as I’m concerned. Google’s application indexes data files, including word processing files, spreadsheets, presentations, e-mail messages, cached Web pages and chat sessions. What if it searches your cache and finds bank summaries or personal messages? What if it’s a shared machine and it accidentally shows you someone else’s personal information? I understand that Google found a capability that was missing in Microsoft’s OS and decided to fix it, and for that I applaud their efforts. Unfortunately at this time I’m not willing to take the security risks of installing their application.
If Google can work on this application and fix some of the security breaches I would be happy to install this application. Does it really need to index a computers cache, I personally don’t think so. I think this feature should be removed, and the same holds true for searching other machine user accounts.
If anyone has any additional information please let us in on it!
